90-day reporting: online, by post or at the office
Keep reporting separate from an extension of stay, and check the submission route, result and next reporting date.

Start with these three things
- A 90-day report does not extend your permission to stay.
- Older Immigration guidance lists in-person, representative, registered-post and online submission. Ask your Immigration office which methods and conditions apply now.
- Current online availability and screen instructions remain unverified. Before the deadline, check an alternative filing method in case you cannot complete an online application.
Steps
"Tip" marks a planning suggestion, not an official rule.
- Tip Check your previous reporting receipt and latest entry date, and manage the reporting schedule separately from your stay expiry.
- The older guidance displaying 2022 describes online submission from 15 days before the due date. Confirm the current opening date and deadline with the office before applying.
- Do not stop at a pending status after submission. Check the result and your next reporting due date.
- Tip If approval cannot be confirmed or the form rejects your entries, contact your local office before the deadline and check another route, such as in-person submission.
What to prepare
- The older postal guidance lists TM47, copies of relevant passport pages, the previous receipt and a return envelope. Confirm the current document list with your local office.
Planning tips (not official rules)
- Keep your original passport, current address, previous receipt, submission screen and reference number ready to explain your case.

Things to watch for
Planning tips (not official rules)
- Even if someone handles the report for you, keep your own copy of the final result and next due date.
Separate the report date from your stay expiry
The Immigration reference is dated 18 April 2022. The deadlines and conditions below may differ from current Chiang Mai requirements. Check your office’s latest instructions before choosing a filing method.
Immigration distinguishes 90-day reporting from an extension of stay: reporting does not extend your permitted stay. It also explains that the count restarts from the latest re-entry after leaving Thailand.
LTR has an annual-reporting provision. Do not apply the same 90-day schedule to every long-term resident.
Check the online result
The older guidance describes checking the result after submission. It also says that after a passport renewal, a report at the local office, personally or through a representative, comes first. These conditions have not been confirmed as current; contact your office before applying with a renewed passport.
Planning tips (not official rules)
Keep your passport and address details beside you, then check numbers, spellings and dates before submitting. Record the on-screen status as well, in case an email does not arrive.
Do not transfer deadlines between submission routes
The older guidance gives a general window from 15 days before to seven days after the due date, and registered-post dispatch at least 15 days before it. Current in-person, postal and online deadlines have not been verified. Confirm your own deadline with the office rather than applying one route’s window to another.
Chiang Mai’s current postal address, return-postage amount and treatment of TM6 remain unverified. Ask the office about these points before choosing post.
Planning tips (not official rules)
If the receipt does not return, ask the office using your dispatch date and tracking details. If overdue, explain the situation rather than deciding to wait until the next report.
Rules can change. Confirm the requirements with Chiang Mai Immigration.
