Start with these three things

"Tip" marks a planning suggestion, not an official rule.

  1. AIS asks users to register accurate personal information and update it if notified that registration is incomplete.
  2. Tip Match mobile data and calls to your usage, and a home-internet contract to your address and intended stay.
  3. The new-contract documents that each provider and plan requires from foreigners remain unverified. Ask the provider which identity documents it needs for the plan you want.

Steps

"Tip" marks a planning suggestion, not an official rule.

  1. Tip Note your phone model, intended address, length of stay and how you use calls and data.
  2. For AIS registration updates, prepare your passport, SIM and phone, and use the official app or an authorised service point.
  3. Tip Before paying, obtain the total including tax, contract period, renewal and cancellation terms on screen or in writing.

What to prepare

  • For an AIS identity-registration update: passport, SIM and the phone you use.

Planning tips (not official rules)

  • Ask the shop about additional new-contract documents first, and bring what it requires.

Where to ask

Your provider’s authorised service point

AIS lists AIS Shop, Telewiz and authorised agents for registration updates.

The shop’s hours are not yet confirmed. Confirm before visiting.

Things to watch for

Planning tips (not official rules)

  • Check your name and passport number yourself, and avoid starting service while it remains registered in a friend’s name.
  • If you receive an identity-check message, verify it through the official app or shop rather than relying only on its link.

Before using the mobile service

AIS explains that accurate, current SIM-registration details identify the subscriber. Service may be interrupted if identity verification is incomplete. It is worth checking registration even after purchase.

Planning tips (not official rules)

For eSIM, ask the seller about device compatibility, SIM locks and whether a Thai phone number is included. Explain whether you need data only or also calls and SMS.

Read beyond the monthly home-internet price

AIS BROADBAND24 terms include monthly prices excluding VAT, conditions for installation discounts, early-termination charges and equipment return. A product name or low monthly price alone does not establish the total cost.

Planning tips (not official rules)

In a rental, ask the manager whether installation is permitted and agree who cancels service when you move out. Give the provider the room number and ask together about installation availability, date, equipment return and the final bill.

Try the connection before a long commitment

AIS explains that actual fixed-line speeds depend on infrastructure, connected equipment, usage and the destination service. Do not treat the advertised speed as a measured result.

Planning tips (not official rules)

For work, try calls or meetings in the room you normally use. If problems occur, record the time, place and symptoms. Keep the contract number, contact point and contract copy together for enquiries.

Inclusion is not a recommendation.
