Checking dates and planning for the Chiang Mai Flower Festival

Plan separately for the flower-float parade and park displays, and confirm the year and venue before visiting.

Start with these three things

  1. The Chiang Mai Flower Festival is described as featuring a parade of floats decorated with fresh flowers and floral displays.
  2. The official page’s dates of 13–15 February 2026 refer to a past festival. Do not treat them as the next festival dates.
  3. The next dates, parade times and route, and traffic restrictions remain unverified. Check the organiser’s announcement.

Steps

"Tip" marks a planning suggestion, not an official rule.

  1. Tip Decide whether you want to watch the moving parade or visit displays in the park.
  2. Check the year on the official page. A description of the usual season may appear alongside that year’s different dates.
  3. Tip Check nearby drop-off and pickup points, the route home and places to sit and rest.
  4. Tip Keep your viewing plans flexible so you can respond to restrictions and crowds on the day.

What to prepare

"Tip" marks a planning suggestion, not an official rule.

  • Tip Prepare a hat, drinking water and comfortable shoes according to the weather and your needs.
  • Paid seating, reservations and permitted belongings for the next festival remain unverified. Before buying a ticket, check the seller and the venue it covers.

Things to watch for

  • The official page describes the usual timing as the first Friday, Saturday and Sunday in February, but lists 13–15 February for 2026. Do not book flights or accommodation solely from the usual timing.

Planning tips (not official rules)

  • Do not give the parade starting point and the entrance to the park displays as if they were the same meeting place.

Choose the parade or park displays

The festival introduction includes flower-covered floats, flowers and ornamental plants, local crafts and food activities. Nong Buak Haad Public Park is a venue to check when planning to see the displays.

Planning tips (not official rules)

With young children or someone who finds standing difficult, discuss whether to follow a moving event or view displays at your own pace. Decide when to leave and how to coordinate the journey home.

Do not overlook the year

TAT’s introduction includes both a past programme and the usual festival season. Check the year as well as the dates when planning a visit.

Planning tips (not official rules)

Record the year, venue and announcement source alongside the date. If someone forwards a poster image, open the original announcement and check for later changes.

Choose where to watch

Planning tips (not official rules)

Share the venue on a map, then check pavement space, entrances, toilets and rest areas. Choose a view of the floats that does not require stepping into the road or blocking a passage with bags.

Before photographing flowers and decorations closely, check signs about touching them. If you plan to shop at stalls, account for extra bags when arranging your return journey.
